Saturday's airsofting was a big success. Perhaps not militarily, but at least we all walked from the site without
aid or intravenous. A bruised knuckle and a fat lip were my only medals of honour, the latter inflicted by an over-zealous
team mate - oh how we (he) laughed. :-) Still, miraculously few injuries compared to one poor sole I saw... sifting through the
leaves on the ground, whimpering, trying to find a front tooth shot straight out of his mouth!
I've attached pics here of some of our "A-team" of venerable heroes. I have also attached a link here to my own personal
star of the show... my UMP Double Eagle.
It really did stand out amongst my own personal arsenal as the best all round performer and I can't wait to use it again.

A DATE WITH PAIN
|
9.24pm, 31st July 2007
|
Yes, not quite sure how it happened, but it seems that I've been roped into a spot of airsofting. For those
who don't know what it is... well, it's a bit like paintballing, but a tad more serious. Instead of getting
marked by a nice big paint bullet, you get marked (sometimes literally) by small plastic bullets. A game for
guys like me who never quite knew how to grow up and still want to run about "playing army". I shall be taking
some pictures on Saturday as myself and a group of friends attempt to avoid heat stroke and heart attacks
while running around a local airsoft site like headless chickens. As a teaser though, I do have some pics of the
weaponry I shall be taking with me - a rather lovely pair of full metal
M4 assault rifles and a very nice M1911 Colt.
Hard to believe these are actually legal in our country considering how strict our gun laws are!!!
OK... time to go and run 10 miles in combat boots with a 30kg backpack. Hmmmm, on second thoughts I think I'll go and
munch a chocolate eclair while doing some levelling up on World of Warcraft. ;-)

MONTHLY MOAN
|
1.35pm, 27th March 2007
|
Monthly Moan - that's what I should have called it seeing as I haven't updated it in weeks. :-)
As you can probably tell Harvey made it back from San Francisco alright, although he
did look a little worse for wear and seemed particularly jumpy. Not sure whether this
was jet-lag or lack of sleep due to staying in the Mos Eisley area of the city, but
the sound of a car backfiring did have him jumping for cover.
We've been busy discussing the feedback from our tech demo and restructuring the game
and implementing changes ever since. As a result our planned playable demo may squeak
over into April now as we are not going to release the tech demo as originally planned.
The new demo will actually feature several in game levels and give a much clearer idea
of exactly how the campaign game will play.

ACROSS THE WATER
|
12.35pm, 8th March 2007
|
Just had an email from Harv in San Francisco - seems his hotel is in the "Mos Eisley" area of the city
and he's having trouble relaxing as the sound of gunfire is louder than the TV in his room. But I've
reassured him that the gunfire is probably the police and at least it shows that they are out there
mopping up bad guys.
On a lighter note, we have Buccaneer on the Garage Games stand at GDC and they seem quite
impressed with the progress so far. Still a lot of work to do, but we're on the right track for sure.
So assuming Harv isn't gunned down in the lobby on his way out, we'll be sitting down to list out all
the amendments we need to do to make the game... perfect. :-)

NEW SCREENSHOTS!!!
|
10.55pm, 4th March 2007
|
OK so it's been more than a week since my last post, but now I'm back. We've just finished a totally insane couple of weeks
working 16 hours a day to get Buccaneer into the new Torque Game Engine Advanced. AND... polishing the DEMO level!!! Yes indeed,
the demo is now very, VERY close to a full release and will be available on the download page as soon as we have fixed one or two
minor bugs and balanced it a little. In the meantime you can see how it's looking on the Screenshots page where I am currently adding
both screenshots and some in-demo movie clips (still sifting through these, so expect them tomorrow).
Next week is GDC and Harv is flying out to wave the Stickman flag about, so if anyone wants to say hello to him, he'll be the one
cruising the stands filling a carrier bag with freebies shouting "Yaarrr!!! More plunder!!""

WEBSLINGING
|
4.30pm, 19th February 2007
|
|
Slowly but surely the new website content is going in - over the next week the Buccaneer side of the site should look at lot more like the Stickman
front end. We also have some new Buccaneer pages - my particular favourite being "Admiral Gurning's World's Maddest
Pirate Faces" page, which I'm hoping many of our visitors will contribute to. We will also have The Hall of Vocal Infamy where
anyone can submit their best pirate voice - the pick of which will make it into the game!!!

Well... still working on the website update - been at it all day since 11:00 this morning (Hey, it is Saturday). Changes will gradually creep through the site
over the next few days as I include new pieces of artwork and content. Currently I'm just changing everything over to the new navigation format
and creating assets as I go - once the new site is done it will have a much greater emphasis on art and be both easier to navigate and easier
on the eye. So initially the pages won't change too much, but will drop into the new navigation system and then I'll work through them in turn
and introduce new artwork. We will have a lot of new screenshots to show off as well as some more traditional artwork as I'm sketching some
of the in-game characters to use throughout the site to introduce different pages and aspects of the game. Better get back to it - another coffee
and some louder music to help spur me on.

FIRST POST
|
6.00pm, 16th February 2007
|
|
Well, this is the first post of my new "blog" and I suppose it's only fitting to point out the obvious (to those who have been here before)... our website is changing.
I decided that it was high time for an overhaul of the old site and am likely to be spending the weekend working on the Buccaneer side of our site and bringing it
in line with the new-look Stickman front page. We have quite a lot of new links and pages to add to both the Stickman and Buccaneer sites and I will be burning
some midnight oil over the next couple of days to get as much done as possible. And while I'm sat here re-designing the website, Harv is sat next to me piecing
Buccaneer together in the newly released Torque Game Engine Advanced. I have to say that it is looking pretty good already and as soon as we are
happy we will be posting some new screen- shots. He claims to be feeling the pressure and is blaming it for the nervous twitch he has in his left eyelid, but
personally I think it's the stink of whatever it is he is eating for his lunch - looks like roadkill and smells like volcanic mud.
